Using your own fabrics
There are so many beautiful fabrics out there, and it’s impossible to feature them all. That’s why Dearest Violet offers a bespoke service, perfect for both interior designers and home-makers looking to create a truly individual eiderdown.
You can have your eiderdown made using your own fabric, giving you complete freedom to match your vision. Customers are responsible for sourcing the fabrics.
I will need to consult with you regarding your choice of fabric, size and edging etc. This can take a few emails to ensure you receive exactly what you want. Please email me here.
Choosing your fabric
For the softest, loftiest eiderdown, quilting cottons, medium-weight cottons, and linens work best. Heavier fabrics can be used, but may slightly reduce the loft, softness and weight of your finished eiderdown.
Filling
You can chose between two fillings. My original Classic blend of 15% down / 85% small feather or my higher down content, Heritage which is 90% down / 10% small feather.

Fabric quantities
The amount of fabric needed depends on the width, pattern repeats, and size of your eiderdown. As a guide for standard 142cm wide fabric:

Frills and pleated edges
Frills on all four sides require extra fabric and time. Additional fees apply:

Some fabrics do not frill easily; in these cases, a small pleated edging will be made (please see images).
Lead time & payment
Each eiderdown is handmade to order. Payment is taken when your eiderdown is ready to post. Current dispatch time is around 8 weeks from receipt of fabric, though I always aim to keep the wait as short as possible.
